1. Agreement and eligibility
By creating an account, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge the Privacy Notice. You must provide accurate account information and protect your login details. The gig marketplace is intended for users aged 18 or older. Do not create an account if you cannot lawfully enter into agreements.
2. What Profolio provides
Profolio provides tools for creating resumes and for users to post gigs, make offers, share resumes, message one another and leave ratings. Profolio is a connection platform and is not the employer, employee, agent or representative of either party to a gig. Profolio does not currently process or guarantee payment through the app.
3. User agreements and payments
Gig creators and service providers are responsible for agreeing on scope, price, timing, payment method, safety and any cancellation terms. Users are responsible for taxes, licences, insurance and legal duties applying to their work. Do not send money or begin unsafe work without checking the other party and the arrangement.
4. Acceptable use
Do not use Profolio for unlawful, fraudulent, discriminatory, exploitative, dangerous or misleading activity. Do not harass others, impersonate anyone, scrape the service, interfere with security, upload malware, publish another person’s private information without authority, or post work involving prohibited goods or services.
5. Your content
You retain ownership of content you create. You grant Profolio the limited permission needed to store, display, format and transmit that content to provide features you choose. You confirm that you have the right to use and share the content. Remove confidential information before sharing a resume or posting publicly.
6. Ratings and conduct
Ratings must reflect a genuine completed gig and must not contain threats, discrimination, confidential information or knowingly false statements. Profolio may restrict abusive content or accounts where reasonably necessary for safety, legal compliance or platform integrity.
7. Availability and third-party services
The service may be interrupted, changed or withdrawn and is provided without a guarantee that every feature will always be available or error-free. Firebase and device services are supplied by third parties under their own terms. Users should keep copies of important resumes and records.
8. Safety and disputes
Users decide whether to interact, meet or contract with one another. Take reasonable safety precautions, use public meeting places where appropriate and contact emergency services when necessary. Users should first try to resolve gig disputes directly. Profolio cannot guarantee another user’s identity, ability, conduct or payment.
9. Accounts and termination
You may stop using the app and request account deletion. Profolio may restrict or terminate access for serious or repeated violations, fraud, security risk or legal requirements. Some marketplace records may be retained where lawfully necessary for disputes, safety, compliance or another participant’s legitimate record.
10. Liability and governing law
Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable consumer protections. To the extent permitted by law, users remain responsible for their own gigs, agreements, payments, content and interactions. These Terms are governed by South African law. Operator identity, service address and final dispute wording require legal review before public release.
11. Changes
Material changes will be versioned and presented for acceptance where required. The effective version shown at the top applies to accounts accepting these Terms.
